Labor Assistants/Doulas
Attend the births of refugee women and at least 3 prenatal appointments
Receive basic training in providing labor assistance/doula support, if you are not already experienced
Childbirth Educators
Assist in teaching our monthly childbirth education class for refugees
Mom-to- Mom Volunteers
Befriend an expectant refugee mom and help with practical preparations for the baby’s arrival
Be a liaison between Embrace and expectant refugee women
Translators
Attend refugee childbirth education course, births, and/or prenatal meetings to provide translation services
Community Advocates
Assist with the creation and distribution of materials necessary to get the word out about Embrace’s services
Cultivate partnerships with others who could serve the refugee community (care providers, the Atlanta birth community,
prospective volunteers, financial partners, resettlement organizations, etc)
Administrative Assistance
Assist with newsletters, mailings, calendars, database maintenance, etc.
Donating Goods
Provide supplies for education courses, birth support and baby needs
Financial Partnership
Sustain and expand Embrace’s capacity to serve refugees through monthly, yearly or one-time tax-deductible gifts. Please make your donation through Friends of Refugees, a non-profit umbrella that we are partnered under.
