Share the Love

Our Hospitality Circle came together over two Saturdays in February and March to assemble hospitality bags stocked with food staples for refugee families who have lost federal resettlement resources.

You shared the love!

Despite the challenging circumstances with recent executive orders and directives that halted government support for newly arrived refugees, you reached out to explore ways to partner with us and took action. As an organization, we shifted our priorities in response to these major changes. You didn’t just ask how to help—you truly stepped up. You put together hospitality bags, making a real impact and becoming a beacon of hope to both our organization and our New American community.

“There was a great mix of types of churches and ages of volunteers from under 10 to over 70, and I loved being able to connect with them to understand why they volunteered for this important event, as well as to learn about some of their personal interests, hobbies, and favorite Atlanta restaurants!” – April Shaffer, board member

As an organization, we concentrate on four key areas: language and literacy, maternal health and childbirth, employment and entrepreneurship, and healthy food access. While we don’t normally run a food pantry or distribute food, the current situation led us to recognize the need to adapt. We decided it was crucial to be ready to support our New American community in case food insecurity arose. So thank you for stepping up!
