Getting to know New Americans is an honor.  When we offer a warm welcome and wraparound support, we watch our community grow stronger in real-time.

Anousheh is a great example of what this community-building looks like. An elderly woman from Afghanistan, she heard about Embrace’s Moms Circle gatherings and has been a regular attendee ever since.

Even though I’m an old woman, still I can enjoy being in Mom’s Circle and learning many new things … Embrace really cares about us,” she says.

She comes to soak up the warmth of community and friendship, and also to strengthen it. Every Mom’s Circle, she shares wisdom and  encouragement with the other moms. After weeks of attending the gatherings, she has also become one of our big fans in the community. We feel so honored every time she recommends us to a New American friend.

Anousheh helps our community flourish. She reminds us that even when you’ve been uprooted, you’re never too old to learn something new, make friends, and grow a flourishing community.

Every friend matters – all 1733 New American friends, and the hundreds of people like you who have said “yes” to offering holistic welcome to them, too.

We cannot wait to see what the rest of this year holds. Whatever happens, we know it will be full of abundant life and friends like you and Anousheh. That’s more than enough.
